ABOUT

Everything you will find at this blog was made with much love and dedication, beginning with the three languages options: Spanish, English and Portuguese! Here we will share our stories, experiences, exotic locations, culinary, tips, adventures and discoveries in this big fat world.

Maxi and Deia for All first started as a YouTube channel just for fun, so our friends and family could follow our life in the Emirates and our travels around the world. And since February 2015, as we embarked on our backpacking trip, the idea has grown. Today, our goal is to demonstrate that it is possible to give up the coveted "career path" to go after what really makes you happy. It's never too late, and if we (in our late thirties and zero fitness) can, anyone can.

We hope you enjoy this space and don’t forget to comment, like and subscribe to our YouTube channel and Facebook fanpage to continue receiving news and updates.

Unlike many couples who get married and buy a house, we decided to have the longest honeymoon a couple ever had and travel the world for indefinite amount of time. After all, it was now or never.

The idea of climbing the career ladder and working 50 hours a week, just to buy more stuff you don’t really need with money you don’t really have, to live a life you don't really want, no longer seemed that attractive to us.

There are rare moments in life when everything corroborates, and when they happen, you have to be open to it and trust your intuition. And so it was. Deia got an unpaid sabbatical leave at work, and Maxi resigned. We sold everything we had and bought a one-way ticket to India. And so in February 2015 we left Dubai with a guitar and our backpacks filled with excitement for the unknown.

"We have no clue where or when we will stop, but we are learning every day that life happens right here and right now, and that living in the present moment is the key to true happiness!"

Born and raised in São Paulo, since I was a little girl I’ve always had a passion for travel. In fact, one of my favorite outings as a child was to go to the airport, which I found to be the most magical place in the world.

With only 17 years old, my first paycheck financed a trip to the Northeast coast of Brazil, and since then, I never stopped. I graduated in Hospitality, precisely because I knew that this profession would open many doors. And in March 2006, when the opportunity arose to work in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, I didn’t think twice. The two-year contract just turn into nine, and in the interim, many changes have happened, including a Master degree in Strategic Marketing, a new and successful career, many friends who have become family, and most important of all, I found the love and partner of my life. I got everything I always wanted but still didn’t feel complete.

It was when I watched the video of Alan Watts “If Money Were No Object What Would You Do?”. Of course my answer was 'traveling'. And what looked like a personal delirium, especially at my age, became true. So far, I have been to the most amazing places, met wonderful people and fantastic cultures. But it was not until I surrendered in a Vipassana retreat in Koh Phangan, Thailand, that the trip began in earnest.

The real journey has been an inner journey, discovering every day (with the help of meditation and yoga) that I already have all I need for happiness within me. Oddly enough, it was necessary to cross half of the world to finally find out that what I have been looking for was always inside of me.

For those who don't know, I absolutely love photography. Most of the images, editing and captions at this blog (unless otherwise indicated) are my own. It was hard work, but the pleasure to see the page alive was totally worth it!

I was born in Rio Negro, Patagonia, a place full of whales, seals and all kinds of large marine animals. At two years old, my family decided to return to Buenos Aires, who has since become my place in the world.

The only activity that I’ve consistently perform every day of my life since I was 15 years old is music, whether playing, studying, recording, teaching, or thinking and meditating about what and how to play, study, record and teach ... All this mixed with all kinds of countless other hobbies (sometimes obsessions!) such as languages, history, programming, building and destroying things, magic, etc.

The turns of life led me to Dubai in 2007, where I met Deia, my love and life partner. 2014 was a decisive year for us; first because after seven years, I finally got the courage to propose to her, we got engaged and finally married (twice!). On the other hand, we decided to leave everything behind and travel the world.

Although sometimes life on the road can be frustrating, allowing us to live new experiences, meet new people and places every single day, was the best decision we could have taken.
